Katie, a native Virginian, is excited to be a member of the university community working with The Well staff and students. She received her Master's of Public Health, Community Health Education from the University of Lynchburg. As an intern at the Student Health and Counseling Center she developed the foundational platform for what is now called “Hornet Wellness,” the wellness education resource for the campus.
Katie completed her Bachelor's of Science in Sociology with a minor in Health Education at Longwood University, and was part of the Kinesiology Department’s research team focusing on Anthropometric Measurements between staff, faculty, and students. Currently, Katie and her Longwood professors are in the finishing stages of publishing a literature review specifically focusing on gender differences in parental involvement in children’s education.
Additionally, among her many passions, health and wellness top the list, she has a love for being outside and traveling whether its sitting on a beach or hiking a mountain trail. With being in a new city Katie looks forward to the new culture, food, and most importantly being a part of the Tulane community in the great city of New Orleans.
