Biography
Originally from Florida, Jeffrey Morris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who graduated with a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. He received a BA in Psychology and Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis. He is also a returned Peace Corps volunteer, having served in the mental health development sector in Guyana, South America, designing suicide prevention and addiction education programming.
Jeffrey utilizes emotion-focused, strengths-based therapy that is trauma-informed in approach. He has worked in residential, partial hospital, and outpatient settings for both mental health and addiction, providing individual, group, and family therapy. He enjoys serving populations that include those suffering from addiction issues, depression, and unresolved trauma. He is most experienced in treating individuals struggling with the following: substance abuse, behavioral addiction, OCD, men's issues (self-esteem, self-image, masculinity), emotion regulation challenges, trauma & PTSD (interpersonal, sexual, physical, family of origin), identity development, life transitions.
Jeffrey is new to New Orleans and appreciates all seafood recommendations. He claims to be undefeated in movie trivia, and in his free time, he is a self-proclaimed lover of the outdoors, surfing, and traveling the world!
