Telehealth Appointments

If you are currently located in Louisiana and need medical or mental health care, you are able to schedule a virtual visit with one of our providers.

How to Schedule a Virtual Visit

If you are student who is sick or feels like you are experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, please schedule a virtual appointment with Campus Health. To schedule, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Patient Portal.
  2. In the gray bar at the top of your page, click on Appointments.
  3. For location, select Uptown Health Center. Uptown Health Center should be selected for all students, including graduate and professional students, if you would like a virtual appointment. Once you’ve made the selection, hit submit.
  4. Select whether you’d like a Future Appointment or a Same-Day Appointment. If you are actively experiencing symptom of COVID-19, please select Same-Day Appointment.
  5. Briefly describe your concern and hit submit.
    1. For a Future Appointment, you can choose between the providers at the Uptown or Downtown Health Center.
      1. For the Downtown Health Center, please select “Downtown Health Center,” “Downtown Virtual Visit,” and “Victoria Valencia, M.D.”
      2. For the Uptown health Center, please select “Uptown Health Center,” “Uptown Virtual Visit,” and they choose between Pod 1 and Pod 2. You may choose either Pod. Once you select a Pod, the provider dropdown will let you know which providers are available. If you have a specific provider you would like to see, you may select them and see their open appointments. If you do not have a preference, selecting “All” will show you the soonest available appointments.
    2. For a Same-Day Appointment, make sure your dropdown read “Uptown Student Health Center,” “Uptown Virtual Visit,” “All Providers.” These should either auto-populate or be the only selection available. Once you’re done, hit submit.
      1. If you do not see a timeslot available and you need to be seen same-day, please call the Student Health Center at 504-865-5255 and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If it is after hours and you need to speak with a medical professional for a non-emergent concern, please call the Nurse Advice Line at 504-862-8121. Leave a message and someone will return your call promptly.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 504-865-5911 (uptown) or 911.

Schedule via your Patient Portal, or call 504-865-5255 to make an appointment.

Required Action Once an Appointment is Scheduled:

Complete Appointment and Intake Forms

  • Click on the Forms tab and sign all required forms in the Appointment and Intake categories.

Verify, Enter, and Submit Health Insurance Information

  • Click on the Insurance tab
    • If the current information is correct, upload the image of the front and back of your card.
    • If there is no information on file, enter the information and upload an image of the front and back of your insurance card.

Approximately 10 minutes before the appointment begins you will receive a secure message with the zoom link from your provider.

10 minutes before your appointment:

Log into your Patient Portal

On the Home screen, scroll all the way to the bottom and Check-in for your appointment and complete any outstanding forms.

When the provider is ready, they will send the Zoom for Healthcare link via secure message which will appear on the messages tab.

Open the secure message, copy and paste the zoom link into your web browser.

If you are unable to keep this appointment, please call us or sign into the Patient Portal to cancel at least 2 hours before the scheduled appointment time.

Please note, the provider may refer you to be seen in person at the Health Center depending on the chief complaint or diagnosis and follow-up required for treatment.

Required Action Once an Appointment is Scheduled:
