Biography
Dr. Jinaki Flint is a Licensed Psychologist and attained a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, Georgia. She serves as the Assistant Director for Outreach and Prevention, which involves managing the Counseling Center’s outreach and prevention services and program. Passionate about students as the world’s next great innovators, Jinaki is a career college counselor with extensive experience in higher education. She is trained in trauma treatment, with certifications in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), sexual assault crisis intervention, and multicultural counseling.
Jinaki’s various areas of interest include African-centered psychology, womanist psychology, racial trauma, and intersections of race, gender, and sexuality. She is also a consultant and educator to the university community and beyond on topics of anti-racism, embodied sexuality, community engagement, and trauma and culturally-informed mental health care. Jinaki is passionate about integrated mental healthcare that includes indigenous healing traditions. She is a New Orleans native and enjoys dancing, beading, and playing one of her many beautiful Sekeres.
