These classes and programs are offered to students who are successful candidates for Tulane Emergency Medical Services.

CPR Classes

Tulane EMS offers CPR classes through the American Heart Association at a low cost. If you are interested in becoming CPR certified, please contact us at tulane-ems@tulane.edu or 504-865-5868. In conjunction with CPR training, we can provide Narcan administration training as well.

EMT Classes

The EMT class is taught on the Uptown campus for new members in the spring semester. The class typically meets three times per week with an additional skills review on the weekend. The EMT class will teach you all you need to know to become an EMT and will guide you through the application and testing process to become nationally certified.

New Orleans EMS Ride-Alongs

Tulane EMS works closely with New Orleans EMS for those patients who need the experience and resources of Advanced Life Support services. New Orleans EMS allows EMTs to ride along on their ambulance through the VIGOR program. All Tulane EMS members are required to take at least two ride-alongs with New Orleans EMS ambulances to gain exposure to calls and to gain the experience needed to better serve the Tulane Community.
