On-Site Testing
The Health Center provides limited on-site laboratory services (CLIA-waved testing) including:
- Urine dip screening
- Rapid strep testing
- Rapid mononucleosis testing
- Rapid influenza testing
- Urine pregnancy testing
- Rapid HIV testing
- Stool occult blood testing
Outsourced Testing
All other laboratory tests are sent to LabCorp for processing unless the patient requests otherwise. LabCorp is an independent diagnostic laboratory that processes and bills claims separately from Campus Health.
The lab draw station location inside the Health Center is provided as a convenience to our students. It is the responsibility of the student/insured to verify whether LabCorp is a preferred provider under their current health insurance plan. If LabCorp is not preferred, lab orders can be provided for the lab vendor of your choice. If your health insurance plan requires another lab vendor, you must notify clinical staff at the beginning of your visit. LabCorp is the preferred provider for the Tulane-sponsored Health Insurance Plan.
Outside Lab Orders No Longer Accepted
Tulane Campus Health is no longer accepting outside lab orders. Students needing laboratory services ordered by healthcare providers outside of Campus Health must visit an off-campus lab.
For best results and to minimize reporting and/or billing issues, we recommend that students schedule an appointment at their preferred Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics location, as stipulated by their insurance carrier.
