Frequently Asked Questions
How can Mental Health Complete help me?
You can use Mental Health Complete to schedule a visit or use digital courses and online tools to help manage stress, anxiety, sleep and more. The platform is available 7 days per week from the privacy of your own space.
Who can use Mental Health Complete?
All enrolled Tulane students who currently pay the Campus Health Fee and reside in the United States have access to Mental Health Complete. Students can schedule sessions from wherever they are in the United States. Mental Health Complete does not replace existing resources for students who are studying or traveling overseas, since its clinicians are licensed only in the United States.
How does Mental Health Complete complement services already available to me through Campus Health?
This model will help students with mild to moderate mental health needs who could benefit from additional support. Students with more acute or urgent needs should connect with existing resources and emergency support offered by Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS).
Can I still see a mental health counselor through CAPS if I use Mental Health Complete?
Students should not seek licensed therapy or psychiatry from both Teladoc Health’s Mental Health Complete and Tulane Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at the same time. You should see a counselor through the service that you feel most comfortable with but not both. You may still access digital self-guided content and coaching care on the Mental Health Complete platform regardless of your CAPS therapy/psychiatry relationship. If you have questions about this policy, please call CAPS at 504-314-2277.
What type of digital content is available?
Your content library includes lessons, videos, guided meditations and activities. They cover a wide range of emotional and mental health topics such as stress, anxiety, sleep issues, and grief.
What type of coaching do I have access to?
The type of mental health coaching you're offered depends on your mental health assessment. You'll have access to a combination of text-based coaching sessions and one-on-one video sessions.
How long are the coaching and therapy visits?
Mental health coaching sessions last about 30 minutes. Therapy visits are typically 45 to 60 minutes.
Should I talk to a certified mental health coach, a therapist or a psychiatrist?

Mental health coaches:
- Focus more on the challenges you face in the present moment
- Meet with you for a set number of weeks
Therapists:
- Dive deep into many areas and times of your life--past and present
- Meet with you for as long as you need
Psychiatrists:
