The Well for Health Promotion fulfills requests from members of the Tulane community for workshops, printed materials, and safer sex supplies. Only requests from verified Tulane email addresses will be answered.
Please allow two business days for a response to your workshop request. Additionally, due to the amount of preparation needed, we need two weeks to fulfill your request. Therefore, please provide a workshop date that is at least two weeks in the future. We ask that all workshops have a minimum of 10 attendees.

The Well for Health Promotion's professional staff can provide information tables at events to cover a variety of health topics and services provided by our office. The subjects we cover include: alcohol and other drugs, mental health, sexual health, sexual violence prevention, and sleep hygiene. We can provide information and resources around each of these topics or focus on one in particular.
Originally developed at the University of Arizona’s Campus Health Services, The Buzz is an alcohol education presentation that uses interactive activities and myth busting facts to facilitate a conversation about alcohol use on college campuses. This presentation involves trivia and a wide variety of games to provide useful information about alcohol in a playful and relaxed manner. Presented by TUPHEs; available virtually and in-person.
A critical element of consensual sex is communication. This workshop addresses the multi-facets of consent, including: what consent language can sound like and look like, how to negotiate personal desires and preferences, how to respond to rejection, and how alcohol and other substance use impact sexual decision-making. A 50 minute presentation about illegal drugs, misuse of Rx drugs, and mixing alcohol and drugs. Discussion points include alcohol and drugs; harmful combinations; non-medical use of prescriptions. Presented by professional staff or TUPHEs; available virtually and in-person.
Learn about self-care strategies and stress reduction. Discussion points include: specific reasons why we get stressed, tips for sleep promotion, stress management strategies, and information about supportive campus resources. Participants will practice self-care techniques including diaphragmatic breathing, environmental stress management techniques, and will create their own self-care bag. One Wave workshops are one-hour peer-led conversations that provide foundational knowledge and skills on how each of us can help keep our peers and communities safe from sexual violence. After this training you will be able to recognize potential moments of harm, acknowledge barriers that stop us from acting, and identify realistic ways to intervene. Any size group is welcome. Understanding Sexual Violence 101 is a 50-minute workshop focused on providing participants with basic information about sexual violence and it's impact on our campus. The workshop includes definitions, statistics, and facts that challenge common myths about sexual violence. Presented by SAPHEs; available virtually and in-person.
This is a general nutrition education lecture focused on teaching the basic principles of nutrition. Learn how to create a balanced plate on or off campus that supports your lifestyle and individual needs. Presented by the Campus Health Registered Dietitian. Mindfulness is an established practice proven to decrease stress and anxiety, while enhancing a sense of well-being. In this one-hour workshop attendees will learn the fundamentals of mindfulness, be guided through exercises, and discuss realistic strategies to bring mindfulness into their daily lives. Less than 20 participants; presented by professional staff; quiet and closed off location required.
Healthy Relationships 101 focuses on how to develop positive and healthy relationships with others. This 50-minute workshop contains interactive activities that encourage Tulane students to discuss what a healthy relationship means to them and develop the key skills needed to build them. In this session we will talk about power-based personal violence, identifying red flags, how to help a friend, and where to get help on and off campus. Presented by professional staff.
Imposter Syndrome 101 is a one-hour workshop intended to inform students about imposter syndrome and connect students with resources, techniques, and tips to improve their sense of belonging and self-efficacy. After this training participants will be able to recognize signs of imposter syndrome, identify the effects of imposter syndrome, and recall strategies to mitigate imposter syndrome. Invest in Rest is a one-hour sleep workshop intended to educate students on common sleep myths, the importance of sleep, and techniques to better sleep hygiene. After this training participants will be able to identify factors to good sleep hygiene, recall habits that inhibit sleep quality, and recognize warning signs of sleep difficulties. Curious about the difference between sex, gender, and sexual orientation? Not quite sure how physical anatomy relates to these categories? This 50-minute workshop gives a basic overview of the difference between the categories of identity that make each of us unique: our sex, gender, and sexual orientation. It also gives participants a chance to reflect on their own identities and how these identities effect their daily lives. Presented by professional staff; available virtually and in-person.

Nutrition for College Students - Forget the Freshman 15: Learn about why it is important for our minds and bodies to take the focus off dreading the “freshman 15” and work towards a healthier relationship with food and our bodies. This presentation also incorporates principals of Intuitive Eating and covers basic information about eating concerns.

Never learned the names for what’s down there? Not quite sure how your or your partners’ anatomy work? This 50-minute workshop gives insight to the incredible diversity of sexual and reproductive anatomy that exist amongst us. Participants will not just learn the names and functions of anatomy but also their roles in personal sexual health and pleasure. Presented by professional staff; available virtually and in-person.
This is a presentation designed for student athletes. We will cover nutrition recommendations pre and post workouts and ways to fuel your body for a successful season. Many of us never received the sex education that we deserve and as a result, we still have questions about elements of sexual health.This 50-minute workshop will cover the basics of STIs, information about testing, and tips for preventing STIs.
