Access to Campus Health Services

Tulane students who are enrolled as part-time (less than 12 credit hours) are typically not automatically assessed the University's Campus Health Fee. While part-time students are welcome to seek Campus Health services, they will be asked to pay the fee at the time of service. Alternatively students who are not automatically assessed the fee but need assistance locating external mental health services may contact the CAPS Care Coordinator. Care Coordination services are available to all Tulane students.

Health Insurance

Degree-seeking part-time students

Degree-seeking part-time students are required to have adequate health insurance that meets or exceeds Tulane University standards, either through the Tulane-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (T-SHIP) or a comparable health insurance plan based in the United States. They must participate in the health insurance action process every academic year.

Learn more about the University's health insurance requirements.

Non-degree seeking part-time students

Students who are enrolled as non-degree seeking are generally not required to take health insurance action. However, non-degree-seeking international students attending Tulane on a J1 visa are required to be enrolled in a university-sponsored health insurance plan and will receive more information during their onboarding process.

Non-degree seeking part-time students may voluntarily enroll in the Tulane-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (T-SHIP) as long as they are enrolled in 3 credit hours or more.

If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact our Insurance Team.

Immunization Compliance

We require students who take in-person classes on any Tulane campus to provide proof of immunization compliance
